St. Georges Technical High School
Supportive Inclusion is a service provided to students with special needs who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). These services are offered within the general education curriculum by a Learning Support Coach, who is a certified special education teacher.

St. Georges has a collaborative consultative model of delivering instruction. The certified special education teacher (Learning Support Coach) works with students and consults with teachers on employing differentiated instruction and providing accommodations in the classroom setting. We are also involved in a longitudinal research case study in conjunction with the University of Delaware and West Chester University. To read the rational for our research study see the attached "Creating an Inclusive Technical High School".

St. Georges is also a Professional Development School (PDS), an innovative institution formed through a partnership between professional education programs and P-12 schools. PDS partnerships have the following mission:

  • the preparation of new teachers,
  • faculty development,
  • inquiry directed at the improvement of practice, and
  • enhanced student achievement.

PDSs improve the quality of teaching and student learning. Read more about the Professional Development School (PDS) program.
